Late last year, we completed the redesign of the NQ Truck & 4WD Wreckers origin website. Their original website, designed by someone else a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, was beginning to show its age. Being originally designed in the pre-mobile website era, meant it didn't work on mobile devices or display properly on smaller screen sizes such as laptops and tablets. This was becoming problematic for the company as they too were noticing complaints from mobile users, who now make up the dominant device used to view most website products.
The reason why they hadn't redesigned their website in such a long time was because there was a very complex, but also very old, Content Management System (CMS) incorporated into the website which acted as a direct feed from their main dealer portal. The company can export a .csv file from their inventory software, which basically acts as the true list of current parts and other inventory that is for sale. This .csv document is then uploaded to a custom-coded website admin interface where the data from the .csv document is translated into products on their website.
The problem with complex development website products is that they can be expensive to engineer and they often get left as long as possible for redesign and redevelopment due to budget constraints.
Our website design team had already designed custom vehicle inventory templates that neatly and responsively showed both a short and long product description, product brand, title, description and price. We also noticed that the exported inventory .csv document contained a path to where the images for each item were stored in s secured Dropbox account. We programmed our website to select a hero image from the list of images each product had, and then also to arrange the remaining product photos into an image gallery on the product long-description page.
Further development services we delivered also included a custom-coded feature where the data they import into their website via their exported .csv document was also then synchronised to their Trader Ads portal, the largest business to business network for buying machinery, trucks and equipment in Australia.
All of this website development work was completed by our local team of website developers who wrote the custom-code to make all of this work behind the scenes. Starting with a blank sheet, our developers wrote more than 5,000 lines of coding, written in PHP: Hypertext Preprocessor, MySQL and Google Chrome's V8 JavaScript engine, Node.js. All of these code based elements have been expertly formatted to provide a secure and ultra-fast load time.
The client even showed surprise that the synchronisation of our proprietary developed code elements to make this engine work synchronised the data of their inventory in seconds, rather than the 24 hour synchronisation time of their old website.
Allcorp are more than just the typical WordPress template website builder, we provide full-stack, custom website development services that are customised to the needs and requirements of each particular client.
